Espen Eriksen Trio er en lyrisk pianotrio med stor publikumsappell. 8. mars slapp de platen You Had Me At Goodbye på Rune Grammofon til strålende kritikker i inn- og utland. På våren og sommeren spiller de på mange av landets største festivaler, som Moldejazz og Maijazz. Musikken er vakker og særdeles melodisk og kan trygt plasseres i en skandinavisk tradisjon med innslag av folkemusikk, melankolia og de dype skoger. Tord Gustavsen og Esbjörn Svensson er mulige referansepunkter, men Espen Eriksen Trio skiller seg ut med sine relativt korte og formfullendte låter og en ”less is more” tilnærming i arrangementer og fremføring.
